We ate dinner at this little place in Paris, called La Cordonnerie. It was the best meal ever. Fois Gras - that was *light*! And duck breast with cognac flambee. And zabaione with raspberries for desert. And a 1999 Cahors to complement it all. It was fabulous.

The next night, Signore was sick (nothing related to the food -we ate the same thing and I was fine). So he sent me on my own. I sat next to the open kitchen and got to watch the chef. That was great. Like food network, except I got to eat the stuff afterwards! (I had lamb - OMG it was good. Very simple - rack of lamb, browned on all sides, then garlic and parsley spread over it, and roasted in the oven for a short time.)

If you ever get to Paris - go to La Cordonnerie. It's on Rue St Roch. Worth going to Paris for, imho.
